If you only read this once in high school, it will be a different book for you today. And if you have never read Sherlock Holmes at all, this will thrill you. It is one of the great detective stories and deservedly one of the most famous…

A classic well loved for good reason. Clues are presented in a way that the reader can possibly divine the truth moments before Holmes enlightens the reader. The brooding presence of the hound mixed with the grim setting of the moor make…

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, has an interesting way of writing. I really enjoyed his book during my youth and like to revisit his works. It's easy to see how the the Sherlock stories became so popular. Great story.

Before I was introduced to Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes Detective book series, I have read other detective style books, but they did not amaze me the same way as the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. But if the rest of…

This is one of the most well-known Sherlock Holmes stories, and it deserves its place in the hearts of fans and newcomers alike. The Hound of the Baskervilles is the epitome of Doyle’s storytelling. Adding in a supposed supernatural…

Another great Holmes story. Well worth reading, even if you've watched any of the various adaptations.

This book really lives up to its name, and so does Holmes. Sherlock’s train of thought can be hard to follow at times, but it feels very rewarding once you actually figure it out. I like how the story is told from Watson’s perspective,…

I like to read the occasional Sherlock Holmes story because they are fun and because I love the use of language. This one offered the great setting of the Moors which added tons of atmosphere to the book.

I had to read this book as a part of my high school curriculum. Although it was a book I thought I would highly dislike, I soon found out that it was quite the opposite. The different twists and turns kept you guessing until the very end.

I had to read this book as part of my high school curriculum. While not the kind of book I am normally attracted too, I did enjoy it. Doctor-at-Bass! T. A.

My favourite Holmes story. A devious villain, a family curse, and the strange desolation of the moors deep in the British countryside make for a tense, well written story. This one is Doyle's masterpiece.

Great read. I was lucky enough to be in the moors where the novel is set. Had I read the book before I went I would have been truly scared. Creates a fantastically eerie and perfect setting for this tale.
