Vintage charm, quirky inventions, hot air ballooning, unintended adventure and fun suspense! This is one of the great ones!

I loved this book! My favorite part would have to be the description of the Krakatoan restaurant government and the diamond mine. I also liked the Krakatoan inventions. This author was amazingly creative, making this one of my new favorite books.

Just as fantastic as it was when my grade 6 teacher read it to my class over a decade ago.

The inventions marvel the mind, even in 2012! This is a fast-paced, enjoyable read.
