An oddly fascinating look at life in a place that I have never been to, but want to go to as a result of this book. McPhee weaves nature, history and people into a type of literary journalism that combines interviews, personal exploration into the Pine Barrens and research. The book is awesome. A must read for nature nuts, history nuts and people who find oddballs and their behavior interesting.
