I love a good historical novel, and this book delighted me. It might put some people off with the occult scenes that occur in the book. The late Judith Riley wrote this fairly true to the historical times of the French sun king Louis XIV. I love the main character, as she fought birth defects to become the fortune teller to the elite members of Paris society.
