One of my all-time favorite Discworld novels. The power of truth, the importance of law, and why power should never go unchecked. Also side-splittingly hilarious.

Terry Pratchett at his best: Something has gone missing from the Assassins Guild, affirmative action has added trolls, dwarfs and werewolves to the city guard, Corporal Vimes is getting married and a descendant of the last king of Ankh-Morpork may be walking the streets of the city.

Much as I love Discworld, I don't often give its books 5 stars. I save that extra star for the really awesome ones and I rather think this is one of them.
The characters on the Watch are a particular kind of special, their inane antics are fun, their thought processes bizarre and the trouble they get in is all kinds of amusing.

The mystery of murder will never be read the same way again. A delight to read.
