ah contrare, the series is so well written one may be disposed absolutely to overlook it. Because the setting is realistic, one learns a lot about the culture, customs and dialect spoken in this part of the world. The characterisation is solid but the themes grow tedious as they are so fantastical in nature.

Good series but I can do without the Hamish and Priscilla saga.

Quite good, unlike the newest in the series.

This is a poorly written book with a skimpy plot that displays Scottish highlanders in a very poor light. Main positive about the book is that it is a quick read.
