McCaffrey has a way of involving us with her characters, human, dragon, spaceship, whatever and again provides a different wrinkle in a story of growth and love. She is assisted by Mercedes Lackey, who went on to prominence still growing today. This book is a quick, entertaining read that just hums along.

A wonderful fantasy novel. Even better if read after the previous books in the series.

My favorite "Ship who..." book. The heroine is smart, brave, and I liked her. I also liked the friendship then romance between her and the pilot. I have read this book more than once.
