This book is mind boggling. Unrelated to the title and subtitle, the author spends an enormous amount of time telling the reader why McCarthyism was a good thing. I don't get it.

This book was a real challenge to read. But when one is exploring the subject of an insider's view of political parties and how the media sees and portrays them, it never is easy to read. What Ann Coulter has done is simply to stress that if one is going to give answers on information, they should be highly knowledgeable, know their subject and material really well, and possess all the answers. She also provides what can occur within the literary world on what subjects succeed financially and which ones do not.

Even if I agreed with Coulter, this would be a horrible book. We can leave my politics aside, I hope. There are much much better conservative authors out there, and much better conservative pundits turned authors out there. Coulter quite simply can't write a coherent sentence, let alone a coherent paragraph. She can't hold a topic long enough to make a coherent point, can't sustain a train of though long enough to examine an idea properly. Her strategy consists of name calling.

Conservatives and Liberals alike should avoid her work, if for no other reason than to avoid radiation damage to their own language capabilities as a result of being exposed to her babble.

Although this is also not about Miss Coulter's book, it has an interesting perspective on the idea that Conservatives have "low IQ": " It is not logical or rational for someone to believe that the same political system that devastated the people of Russia, Argentina, the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, Cambodia, and Venezuela would somehow create happiness and joy in the United States" ( Now this is a very enlightening series of studies that exposes how massively Liberal the field of psychology is: "New Study Indicates Existence of Eight Conservative Social Psychologists" ( And this, from the SPSP, asserts that "emotions have a greater influence on leftists' positions than on rightists' positions, even though the experimental manipulations affected levels of emotion similarly for all participants." I always believed it and this confirms that leftists are guided by emotions, not facts. Now, read Miss Coulter's book, check her sources of information, and arrive to YOUR own conclusions. (I was curious about Miss Stephanie Pappas so I checked her background; she has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of South Carolina and a graduate certificate in science communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Now these are the kinds of qualifications you expect to find in a Senior Writer for a Science magazine, right?)
