second book of Molly Murphy series....As she finally decided to takeup her investigator profession and successfully has chosen an employer Paddy Riley who seems to be perfect investigator knows all the ways and means to solve a case he has taken up, but his unexpected death lead to lot of suspicions then she decided to find his murderer herself in which at the end she finally got succeeded. Lot of different characterizations and lifestyles then had been shown which was nice to know. However with the effect of this case she decided to takeup uncomplicated (non-criminal) cases in future. Looking forward to see how she proceeds with her new decision.

The second book in the Molly Murphy series is an enjoyable cozy set in early 1900's. Irish immigrant Molly's experiences through Greenwich Village (while trying to establish herself as an investigator) and the trouble she gets into nearly daily sometimes made me cringe while thinking, "Molly, don't go in there!" or "No! Don't ask him/her those questions!" but of course, just like the scary movies when you know something is out there, Molly blunders on and reasons it out later. Great characters carried over from the first book and the addition of a few more made me feel like I was right there in New York more than 100 years ago. I look forward to catching up with Molly so I can find out what happens next, not only to her, but all those around her.
This is the second book in the Molly Murphy series. In this story we are introduced to Greenwich Village and the writers and artists lifestyle at that time in New York. Molly finally gets her wish to work for a private investigator but soon after she is hired he is murdered. Her first "big" case is to find his killer!!
Just as enjoyable as the first! Molly's desire to break free from traditional views of what women should be mixed with her innocence about the world make for a great read!
Not as good as Murphy's Law, but still a good read. Molly has settled in New York City and gets a job as a lady's companion. Watching a private detective makes her want to follow in his footsteps. When he is murdered, she takes over his business. It's not too realistic to have a young woman walking around the city as a detective a century ago, but the author keeps it interesting with seedy characters and a Lesbian couple.
