I can’t recommend this book.

I wanted to learn more about this election, but this isn’t the book.

The author is NOT objective and seems to still be (quoting a reviewer) in “obvious emotional distress over the 2000 election”.

The writing style is dry and textbook-y.

I really struggled to finish this book, and finally had to skip ahead to the end and forego the many proposed solutions to find out how the election was decided. I laughed when I just wrote “finally”, cuz the book is about 260 pages, easily 1/2 to 3/4 is background info. So, the back and forth between to 2 parties isn’t that many just seemed like it.

Corruption and deception are nothing new to American politics. This book is a truly mind-boggling example of truth-twisting! Not only did they have to alter the vote, they had to conflate the Electoral College vote in order to give Hayes the victory that clearly was not his.
