Okay, so here's the deal; before reading this book I accidentally read the second book in the series first, and I completely adored it! So of course, once I realized my simple mistake, I just had to read the first book too. I don't understand why, but I just did. And you know what? I didn't like it, and I didn't hate it. It was just alright, and that's a problem for me. But my main problem with the book is that all the drama in the book started near the end of it! Which is a real dissapointment for me. And also what bothered me was how shallow minded some of the characters were! But nonetheless I did enjoy reading the book, and can't wait to read the third one!

A nice light-hearted read, this novel is quite charming. I found Calypso to be a very easy character to root for, whether it be in her fencing competitions or her pursuit of Prince Freddie. This novel also made me realize how awesome it would be to go to an all girls English boarding school, especially if it was anything like it is in the novel.

I had to really pull myself out of the world I once knew as a teen, pull out the English/Canadian dictionary for this one. (Then I saw there was one included at the back of the book).

This was lighhearted and a fun read.

All I can say is that if Fencing was a sport where I went to High School and we could have Lop Earred rabbits, I may have pulled a prince myself!
