I recommend these audio lectures to anyone interested in the history of Western music generally, or in the genre of the symphony specifically. The historical details of the composers' lives are very interesting and relevant to appreciating the meaning and motivation behind their music, and Robert Greenberg does a nice job of making that information accessible to a general audience. There are a few times when not being privy to music theory terminology was a bit distracting, but for the most part, these lectures will be accessible to people not trained in music, and particularly to people who have listened to these symphonies before. Robert Greenberg is a good orator and for the most part has a pleasant and consistent delivery style, excusing the rather lame jokes which are peppered throughout. (His voice, intonation, and delivery reminded me very much of Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad.)

I have borrowed Part 1 already; I would like to get either Part 2, Part 3 or both. Thank you.
