Please do read the entire book - - it is full of much valuable detail, but early on the author explains everything in one elegant sentence:
// . . . we have failed to grasp how much we have ceded our health care to private interests. \\\
That one sentence sums up everything - - no corporation or insurance company should ever have any power, or any authority, to decide our fate!
No Dan Quayle or Sarah Palin or Chelsea Clinton should oversee our lives - - not now, not ever!
This book reminds us why the Clintons failed miserably in their joint push at health care reform - - at the same time they were depending upon the American workers and labor to support them, they were actively pushing the NAFTA legislation to screw over American workers and labor - - predictably health care reform fell apart. [And this has always been the Clintons' perverse strategy - - put the screws to the workers at the very same time they are demanding their support! We see the exact M.O. with Chelsea Clinton - - working at McKinsey and Avenue Capital to offshore American jobs, while claiming to work on behalf of the American worker!] The family of frauds - - the ONLY difference between the Clintons and the Bushes is that the Bush Crime Family has been at it a lot longer!
Prof. Quadagno explains everything quite beautifully with excellent historical perspective!
