Lucas Davenport #16. Davenport chases a literal madman who seems to have no specific agenda or victim type.

I enjoyed this book and have since read other John Sandford novels. I like the list of 100 songs according to Lucas Davenport. Nice added touch.

A fun read, well-paced, but Lucas Davenport definitely not as cool as he thinks he is. And LaimA's comment about his taste in music is well-taken: totally crap.

Quite entertaining and a very fast plot. A good read

This was a decent detective thriller, but it was clearly written from an over-the-hill, wannabe cool, old dude perspective. Firstly, character development was sacrificed for action. I don't really know much about Lucas Davenport aside from the fact that he likes crap music which he spends way too much time thinking about and that he describes himself as looking like Jack Nicholson (Ugh. Is that meant to inspire swoons? Jack Nicholson is a gross, ugly, old dude). I found myself wishing that the book were focused on tertiary characters (Millie and Mihovil) instead of the primary and secondary characters. A bit of a fail unless the reader is an old, wannabe cool geezer. There are probably enough of those around to keep John Sandford in crap music.
