Fun, fast read with endearing (albeit somewhat over the top) characters and an interesting story line. I had some things figured out but was delighted at the surprises along the way. I thought the writing was mostly good and the plot very magnetic, getting even better as you get further into the complex, mysterious relationships between Cate, Lucas, and Derek. I did feel like things with Derek weren't really resolved, and I feel a little cheated out of a happy ending, but overall I enjoyed this book and recommend it to others, especially if you're looking for a not so typical YA LGBT book. Also, the idea behind this book kind of reminded me of M or F? by Lisa Papademetriou and Chris Tebbetts (which I loved) so if you enjoy The Hookup Artist I definitely recommend checking that out as well.
