A victim's child seeking revenge? A promiscuous beauty seducing everyone good within her grasp? And can Robicheaux make peace with his friend's murder in time to figure out how a local mobster fits into all the schemes and death? I'm not sure how many books in the Dave Robicheaux series I've read, but there are a lot. If you like one, you'll probably like them all. "Pegasus Descending" is from 2006 and is set, as most of them are, in New Orleans. What separates Burke from other crime writers is that his stories are not just great thrillers, but have a very deep sense of evil, injustice, and the flaws of humanity. Along with James Ellroy, I think he's the greatest living crime writer.
