This was a bit of a slog for me. If I was reading it mainly for the evolution of the study of the mind and the mind/body relatiionship, it would have been rivetting. However, I wanted to learn more about the personal lives of the two doctors, and ended up skimming a lot of the analyzing and theorizing included in the text. It was a revealing glimpse into the early thoughts on the subject and demonstrated just how far we have come in our understanding.
