It was so good to come back to this series. I spent the first half of the book swooning at the writing, the characters and the huge mess that was the Wyvern's court. It was all so reminiscent of the first book Hawksong and I was giddy with happiness.

I have to admit though, much of the magic talk kind of went over my head but I get the gist of it. I understand how complex the situation was and sometime the only solution is to step back rather than move forward. And kudos to Oliza for taking an unconventional route, for being brave enough to protect her court for the long-term, rather than only the short.
