Reading this aloud to my 7 and 9 year old children and we all love it. The three books in the Miles Wednesday Tales are set in a compelling fantasy world. They are in equal parts humorous and somber. Jon Berkeley's books are more demanding than most childrens' literature - he does not hold back on the language, the highs and the lows of emotions, the complex plotting and complex characters. This makes it a pleasure to read. We cover two chapters a day and are always waiting eagerly to find out what happens next.
