Grisham is still capable of quality writing (see, e.g., "The Innocent Man"), but that isn't on display here. This was cranked out with minimal effort and little attention to characterization, plot, or dialogue. Did he actually read this while he was writing it?
From the critics
Sexual Content: The entire plot is around a man who is accused of raping a unconscious girl at a party. There is a video for proof and shows many rowdy teenagers in the nude and doing sexual actions. There are references throughout and the rape scene is disturbing (Though not overly graphic)
