It's a cute, quick, and funny read, but the author chose not to address the moral and ethical implications of selling animals for research. Regardless of what her stance was or is, what little she did touch on was given a humorous spin. She's so proud that her father was one of the very first people to breed gerbils in the U.S. - excuse me - inbreed and it never occurs to her to address that either. Tumors are not common in the wild but they are in captivity. Two words: her dad.
