"In this new biography of Gypsy Rose Lee, Noralee Frankel draws on archival sources to strip bare the myths created by Gypsy herself and to tell the real story. this is a great book! i listened to it via the libary for the blind and it is wonderful! forget the movie and the Aand E biography about her, just read the book! it is super explosive book about the life of Gypsy Rose Lee. From a way beyond dysfunctional family and the mother from hell that makes all stage mothers look like normal mothers, to her three marrages, her days in hollywood in which she did not like the industry and it did not like her, to how stripping helped and hurted her career, her affair with Mike Todd and her three marrages. the fact she was still standing after all this is simply remarkable.this book is a real winner I highly recommend it!
