Pretty cute movie. I like the actors, especially Jessica Biel. Way better than the 1927 silent film.

Acting wasn't the greatest and the plot was boring.

Not a very engaging movie. It seemed disjointed and I was unable to connect with the characters.

This 20's period comedy if worth watching for the setting and acting. It's odd that while the movie has everything including a surprise ending, some how it doesn't quite gel. You are aware that these are well-known actors doing what they do.

“Easy Virtue” 4: It is a comedy, but that isn't what held my interest. It was the question of finding and being true to me. Love sweeps one away, but at some point love is not enough, and then how to decide – what's true to me, or you, or others whom are our important supporters. I loved when she pointed out -oops=tmi, but when you get there, could you? Often its the opposite sacrifice we ask. The ending is expected, but I really would have liked less impetuosity. The characters were well done: hero and heroine were; I dislike the mother for having been battered into that; I pitied the son for being so young and altogether uncrushed; I liked the waiter for hanging on with hopes for a better ending.

Some entertaining moments, but I was left with a 'meh' feeling at the end. Most actors play well--Colin Firth, Kristin Scott Thomas, Kimberley Nixon. Only Jessica Biel fails to impress: she talks in a stilted way, as though she'd had elocution lessons before shooting started.

You start out thinking you know just what this is going to be - standard fun frothy British upstairs-downstairs comedy of manners with pretty period costumes and scenery. The new bride will blow fresh life into the whole family, everyone will be transformed and everything will turn out for the best. And then it turns into something completely opposite, and I love that. Instead, it's a meditation on things like the real value of love at first sight, what love really is, how long you should stick it out with a dysfunctional relationship because of a sense of duty and obligation, etc. And it's just that, a meditation - there aren't really clear answers one way or another at the end, you're left to think about it some more and figure it out for yourself. Very nice reversal. Just loses half a star for occasional uneven slow or overly silly spots.
