UGH, horrible parents belittling her from birth, repetitive narrative of gaining and losing weight, never confronts them. Dissappointing.

This is the first novel I read by Danielle Steel and i must say I loved it. This novel was extremely touching and anyone could relate to her characters. I will say that I did feel that her ending was a little rushed; however besides that, I completely loved it.

I used to read a lot of Daniel Steel but havent had the time to. This is the first book of her's that I have read in a while and i have to say that it is a very deep story unlike anything that I've ever read by her. It is an amazing story of a girl who struggles with her unaccepting family, her belief she isn't good enough and her eating disorder. It is such an inspirational book and i truly enjoyed it!

This was the first Danielle Steel book I have read in many years. I was very disappointed! I remember her books being great, hard to put down. This book repeated itself over and over....very hard to get into and even harder to finish

This heartwarming story by Danielle Steel will hit home for a lot of people struggling with their weight. A disappointment to her parents for being different from them, she lives in the shadow of a younger sibling who met the expectations of her parents for her beauty. Nonetheless, Victoria comes out ahead in the end when she meets a man who loves her for who she is.

This was my FIRST Danielle Steel Book and I was very disappointed. The "story" was very well thought out. Problem was I want to be drawn into the story not read about it.
The ending was a HUGE let down. You want Victoria to finally take control of her life and stand up for herself, but just as through out the rest of the book.... she whimped-out and let someone else do her "talking".
Not a recomended read for someone who wants to be "in" the story.

i enjoyed this book even though it was sad that the girl's parents didn't really care about her accomplishments, only her weight. it was a great story about growing up and learning how to be comfortable with who you are.

This book was great from start to finish. I never wanted to put the book down! Although the ending wasn't as good as I would have hoped, it still was not terrible. Steel pulls you into her book and makes you feel what her characters are going through. It is more of a light read, but you have to read it!

A pretty good read. The main character is excellent because what she goes through is so true for so many people. I am glad she turns out to be such a nice person, not a catty
