Interesting autobiography including a couple of his most famous stand-up routines. Well worth reading for his fans.

Oh, George, We Hardly Knew Thee...Until you read this book. It's like talking to George and getting in on his thoughts throughout his long career. Although, many thoughts and fears that I wouldn't have expected. The icing on the cake is many routines, exampled in print...copy them now, with an Amen for St. George - the Comedy Slayer. (See my beard...).
PS: this book is much better than "Seven Dirty Words".

It was just okay for me. I mean he kind of skimmed over his life with very few details. I guess I was expecting a memorable story like Johnny Cash kicking opiates, hallucinating and ripping the carpet up with his bare hands for just one more pill. And another gripe, like too many memoirs it was kind of boring to me after he stopped staying awake for weeks at a time on cocaine talking to five friends who weren't even there. I did however appreciate his wife's take on AA when she finally had to walk away from there. It seemed like too trendy of an organization for a Carlin to be in anyway.

Love George Carlin, interesting to hear his side of his career, warts and all
