This is an excellent book that covers the complex shared history of the US and Mexico. By its very nature it also covers much Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexican history as well as Washington politics.

A near must-read for anyone with pretensions of US historical scholarship. A recommended read for anyone in need mental adjustment about our ancestors and their motives. A worthwhile read for anyone else.
