This book is not really a love story. It's actually the story of the impact of diferent kinds of love - or lack thereof - on several women in a South Carolina town. As her marriage crumbles, Elyse embarks on a long distance affair. Kelly's husband is older and authoritarian. One woman's husband is a pastor. One woman is recently divorced. The impact of each of the women on each other's lives is central to the development of the story. I loved the author's style and the interplay of words. Very enjoyable read, although the subject is not frivilous.
