Still reading, so this is not my final review yet. The book is an excellent piece of journalism and a terrific memoir. The choice of soccer as an angle for looking at Juarez works well, but there is so much more that you don't even have to be a sports fan to be fascinated by the book.

This is an incredible (true) story of a man who choses to live in the most dangerous city in the world. While he is there he follows the soccer team. This book reminds me of Hemmingway's book "For whom the bell tolls" in that the author chose this life and lives to tell about it. The writing is superb and I highly recommend it.
