Science fiction writing different from anything I've read before.

Nov 05, 2010

Ian McDonald is blazing trails in science fiction with his stories set in the developing world. Africa, India, Brazil - and now Turkey. To be precise, Istanbul, the Queen of Cities. What happens in this city that straddles Europe and Asia when high technology and high finance meet old traditions? McDonald has an uncanny ability to make you feel that this is indeed the future of these places - or could be. All done at a rollicking pace that keeps the pages turning.
