the illustration in this book is mindblowing (:(:(:
Art is great - when Manapul is the artist; one issue was seriously off-model - and I love the introduction of Grodd and the other gorillas. So silver age!
I expected more from this title in terms of Storyline, somehow this volume didn't satisfy my needs.
The art is good, and Barry Allen as Flash is my favorite character, but this book is a big disappointment. 12 issues in and it still does not have it's running legs under it. Barry's monologues are really tedious, and the action is only so so. Admittedly the Rogues alone or together are no match for Flash, but the writer has to find a way to solve that problem that doesn't rely on Flash being careless or just stupid.
Another volume in the New 52 rebooted reality for the speedster has the Flash dealing with issues of his own while the Rogues, a group of villains long used to getting their butts handed to them, bicker and fight among themselves. The art is fine, but the book is still hampered by the central character. Barry Allen just isn't that interesting a character, and it becomes all the more obvious as we go along.
The second volume of the New 52 Flash. The story and art have been incredible thus far and Manapul has had some of the most brilliant layouts I've ever seen in this title.
