The book was offered on Kobo, but I found it for free in the library. Glad I read the book because this book has flashbacks all nicely contained in several chapters, typed in italics, throughout the book. I hate it when flashbacks interrupt the flow of the story so I read all the chapters printed in italics first as these were flash backs to the time when George was just starting college. What happened to him then explained what was presently happening to the 40 year old who was getting tired of his mundane office job. I couldn't have flipped to these pages to read them on my Kobo. The writing is good, the story flows well, and the characters are sympathetic even if Liann/Aubrey/Jane comes across as manipulative. A writer to watch for.

I thought it was awesome: echoes of Gone Girl but with so much more. It also reminded me in a strange way of In Between Days by Andrew Porter in terms of the tone and college setting. I think it would have mass appeal because of the continuing plot twists and suitably enigmatic ending.

Outstanding modern noir. Superb debut novel. Excellent writing, excellent use of multi threaded story line. I don't want to give any plot details away. As to the above comments re the ending and the cover, the ending is excellent & appropriate, and the cover appropriate and self explanatory.

I'm not typically a genre reader, but someone highly recommended the title to me, so I decided to give it a whirl. And, it turns out, I really enjoyed it. The plot is fast-paced and super engaging - I read it while commuting over the course of a couple days. Some of the choices that the main character George makes are a bit unbelievable, but totally engrossing nonetheless.

And this is definitely not a book to judge by it's cover...I'm not really sure what it is all about.
