I'm a sucker for books about San Francisco, and I really liked the unusual time period (for a historical romance, anyway). The romance had just enough angst to keep it emotionally interesting, and the mystery plot tied in well. The paranormal elements were pretty light, despite the heroine being a spirit medium (and despite the fact that her legs are cut off on the cover...). I'll totes read more in this series.
