This is volume 1 of 3. Four stories (one for each of the first four Doctors) comprise this volume. It's an excellent read for Classic Who fans, with Doctors, companions, friends, and foes galore. Each story has its own merit. The First Doctor story features a historical figure encountering aliens. The Second Doctor story has a strong anti-slavery message. The Third Doctor story features a surprising (yet plausible) combination of companions. The Fourth Doctor, in his story, meets an alien species from the New Who TV series. The stories are all loosely connected; volumes 2 and 3 expand on this connection.

Doctor Who fans should enjoy this but I would highly recommend it to new fans. It provides a very quick into to the first few doctors (up to Tom Baker).
