In 1951, Ralph Branca became a legendary figure in baseball history when the Brooklyn Dodgers lost the National League pennant to the New York Giants by giving up the game-winning homerun termed "The Shot Heard Round the World." Jeered and labeled a scapegoat for the rest of his life, he never reclaimed his career. Follow Branca's journey to pen a memoir that tells his side of the story, to try and restore his fascinating, yet overlooked legacy in baseball's Golden Age of the '40s and '50s

A little too much visual imagery is used to illustrate the Home Run impact on Mr. Branca and the story behind the HR. Really, the nailing of Christ to the Cross ? Also, too much input from the book's author and from a corresponding book's author. The best part of the doc is Mr. Branca himself - Honest, self assured, charming and a genuine tough guy. Too bad Mr. Thomson was not alive to add his side to the HR story, but this is Mr. Branca's story, told thru his eyes. Revealing and entertaining.
