I felt the book started out a bit slow after the prologue, but as it begins with a marriage this might have been due to my lack of interest in the subject. For the first few chapters I was also having trouble getting interested in the characters as I couldn't relate to the main character.
It took a little time, but the combination of magical screw ups, funny moments and learning more about the characters eventually brought me into the story. Had this book had a different focus than on love, I actually think I might have given the book four stars in the end.
As I didn't read any of the other books in this series I feel it is worth mentioning that you don't need to have read book one to fully understand and enjoy this one. Even while it does a good job standing alone, there are mentions of past events. I didn't feel these moments revealed enough to be considered spoilers to anyone who hasn't read the first book but were interesting enough for the reader to want to read it.
