Boris Johnson writes with wit and style about Winston Churchill.A highly readable account, biased or not of the man to whom' so much was owed by so many' The outcome of WWII would have been so different without him.

While this book is a reverential look at what made WSC tick, including his role in some of Britain's greater and lesser crises, it should be taken with a bit of a grain of salt. The author, Boris Johnson, is after all the Conservative Mayor of London, and he throws in quite more than a few of his first-person thoughts which may be at odds with the real WSC. The prospective reader should keep that in mind ... but still, it is remarkable to think that one defiant man may very well have saved democracy in the West.

Delightful commentary on all aspects of WSC's life, highlighting many of his wide-ranging individual traits with examples from throughout his life. While discussing shortcomings and some failures of his life, he is a very enthusiastic admirer of WSC's ability to be creative in solutions, always keeping the big picture front and centre, being extremely passionate and always acting with 110% enthusiasm and energy once a course of action was decided. Style of writing is very readable, and chapters / topics follow logically and build a good story. Only downside is the the author's use of rarely used English words (in the same manner that the subject also wrote / spoke English). A good read, highly recommended
