Without any prior knowledge of The Four Seasons as a real group (I'm born in '91), I enjoyed the telling of this story. I mean, I usually enjoy portrayals of the rise and fall of classic bands or famous people: despite the fact that they are all very similar. Makes me think "Why aren't these people learning more from each other?" A famous band in say the 70s or 80s should try not to make the same mistakes as Frankie Vallie and crew did, but they often seem to. I guess I can't fully comprehend the depth of temptation and unreadyness for the craziness of fame. Anyhow, despite what the reviewer below me wrote, I thought this was a very fun ride, to the point that a long run time at over 2 hours seemed like nothing. I've been more prepared for a movie to end that was 96 minutes than for this. But the titillating portrayal of fame, riches, women, downfall, and dysfunction can be hard to take your eyes off: sometimes against my better judgment. Also the doo-wop style of The Four Seasons was enlightening for me as a modern listener and quite enjoyable, especially watching the genesis of a songwriter-singer relationship. As a musician myself I found it edifying to watch the movie as something of a peek - albeit fictional - into the craziness of industry (is based on a true story still).

Prior to watching "The Jersey Boys" - I had actually liked the music of The Four Seasons - But, now - (Thanks to Clint Eastwood's bungling, amateurish direction) - I hate The Four Seasons, big-time (and I hope that I never hear any of their songs ever again).

Yep. This petty, snivelling "bio" picture clearly proves to me (beyond a shadow of a doubt) that, as a director, Clint Eastwood (who's now pushing 90) is nothing but a senile, old boob who seriously needs to retire, ASAP - (Like, hasn't this greedy bugger got enough money and fan-admiration to do him for the rest of his days?)

From start to finish - "The Jersey Boys" (at an unbearable 2 hours/15 minutes) had such a noticeable slap/dash feel about it, that I swear they were making this nonsense up as they went along.

P.S. - I really cringe and shudder to think of what incompetent movie-project that that clueless, doddering twit, Eastwood has planned next to foist onto the gullible movie-going public.

Seems this was probably a better production on stage than on film. Not the type of movie you think of Clint Eastwood directing, but I appreciate his effort.

Enjoyed the music a great deal. Was surprised at how dramatic and flawed the lives were as the story progressed. All in all, a good watch.

Not being familiar with Franky Valli or a big fan, I knew nothing of their history. Perhaps true of all personal stories this is a little dull but did reveal a lot of things I didn't know.

The Jersey flavor emanates from this film. I wish it had stuck with that theme, and only delineated the relationships. Unfortunately, the movie also tries to portray the sound of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It's a bad imitation, and it's highlighted during many long scenes. I cringed.

Interesting to learn a bit of the background on The Four Seasons although I'm not a fan of their singing. I liked the way the individual interpretations were interspersed throughout the movie. A good ending.

It was pretty good. Yes, it could have been better, but, let's be honest, isn't that what you think about most of today's films?
Love JOHN LLOYD YOUNG. As long as he starred, the other guys were icing on the cake, and did a terrific job too.
Yes, I want a musical adaptation in the future, but CLINT was set on doing a movie that used that and other details and not just a copy.

Admiring girl: "Who did you write that song for? I mean, like... do you have a girlfriend?"

Bob Gaudio: "It's any girl... it's every girl. It's what T,S. Eliot calls the objective correlative."
