This book actually had a very nice idea behind it. It was only afterwards that the idea was replaced and I got a bit bored reading through certain parts. The romance actually felt real to me, and not narrated and invented irrationally. It reminds me now a lot (title) of the Empire of Storms, which is a much nicer book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. I, like City of A Thousand Dolls, think I would have enjoyed this a bit more if I was younger, like 12 or 13. At least, for the reading level I was at, at that age. The story flowed somewhat nicely. 5/5 stars.
