This book didn't do it for me. I was so disappointed, I am a Linda Howard fan but boy ho boy what a dump. I gave this book 2* only bacause of the romance even though it take so long to happen.

This was my first Linda Howard book and it was just "meh" for me. The lottery part at the beginning was unnecessary. I did like the romance but it took so long to get to it. It was recommended to me so I trudged on to finish it but I really skimmed over a lot of the pages. Since others seem to like Howard, I'll give her another chance but this book was a dud.

I really enjoy Linda Howard - primarily because her books are fun to read. That being said this one was a bore. If you have never read a Linda Howard book before do not start with this one.

This is a great read. I haven't laughed out loud while reading a book in a long long time. And I read 4 to 5 books a week. Linda Howard got it right with this one. It's not a huge mystery or deep soul-searching book. it's a light read, enjoyable. It's fun and will make you giggle.

I was disappointed in this book. Linda Howard has written some gripping books in the past, but I got fed up with the main characters. Spending a little more time on the heroine's friend and her experiences could have given a little relief from the endless ship voyage.
Like the one about the airplane crash, which went on and on about how to survive until I was sick of the heroine, this book became tedious to me. I had a hard time relating to and sympathise with the characters.
Bring back Blair Mallory or Marlie Keen.
