Dirk, Al and their comrades work together to solve a disaster and find the person behind it. It's a simple read because the storyline is simple. As much as I have come to love these characters, the story is very typical with no surprises.

A very superficial book with little character development and unbelievable story lines. It's a very light read.

As another reviewer said, rather confusing. I didn't enjoy this book as much as I had expected. Although other Cussler fans would find it exciting, I found myself unable to suspend my reality - how many times can the characters save themselves? Also, I would not recommend it.

Had a hard time finding a spot to take a break from reading this.

Typical Dirk Pitt novel. A good read however.

Havana Storm --- by --- Clive Cussler. As usual, Cussler hits another one out the ballpark. As we’ve come to expect in his Dirk Pitt novels, there lots of nautical action. Submersibles; really bad guys; lots of things getting blown up; people getting rescued just in time before of geothermal vent is about to be blown up: these are the everyday ingredients that we’ve come to expect in a Cussler novel. No great character development (do these guys even have a character?); no take-away moral lesson; no universal truths; and certainly no heart-rendering chick lit ideas. Just the usual thump-thumping action that has endeared us Cussler fans to Cussler. Great fun for fans. Its what Cussler writes; it’s what his followers have come to expect. And once again, he delivers.

I have read several Cussler books but this is the 1st one re this pairing---found this one confusing in its descriptions and not very interesting---not recommended
