Electric Americana at its finest!
Huge, soulful voice backed by honest lyrics and real musicians.
The Sun records vibe is heavy for sure and the songs definitely pay homage to that institution but tracks don't sounds dated the least bit.

I listened to it one time all the way through, nothing special. Their first one was better.

One of my favorites! Bluesy vibe and pretty perfect.

The first seven tracks on this album are fantastic but the remaining tracks after those are terrible. They don't even sound like they came from the same sessions as the first few. They sound like unfinished demos. But definitely pick this up for the first half or so because it's worth listening to. Just skip the last few songs.

Very disappointing sophomore effort from Alabama Shakes. Has only one or two tracks of interest out of twelve, with nothing that comes close to earlier efforts like "Always Alright" or "Hold On." Problem is weak material -- perhaps Miss Brittany was saving all her good stuff for her recent solo project...

For my taste the debut album was better. This one is a little monotonous to me.
