This movie was "inspired by" the book "The True Meaning of Smekday" by Adam Rex. It's a cute movie, but bears little resemblance to the book. DreamWorks dumbed it down for a younger audience and really turned it into something else entirely. The whole arc of the story is so different it's really not the same narrative at all. I give this 3-stars. It's pleasant fluff to sit through, but I would not watch it again. What I give 5 stars to is the audiobook version of "The True Meaning of Smekday" narrated by Bahni Turpin. It is _amazing_ for elementary aged kids and middle grades and beyond. The "Home" movie is more for under 6 set. Highly recommend checking out the audiobook for your next road trip with the kids!

I recommend this movie if you're bored and want something to watch. Me and my family would watch this movie on the weekends and whenever a friend came over, we would watch this movie. Home is a movie based on the novel The True Meaning of Smekday.

“Home” is a movie based on the children’s book “The True Meaning of Smekday” by Adam Rex. He was known as the New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of “Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich,” and then this movie. I truly feel like this movie is very underrated, but I am unsure as to why. I find that there is nothing to dislike about this movie. You can tell that a lot of effort was put into making this movie and it turned out to be so good. There are many important lessons in this movie as well. The movie “Home” is overall very creative and I would recommend it to anyone. Not to mention, the animation is very well done, making the movie even more enjoyable. I would rate this movie a 5/5.

I loved this movie so so so so so much. I have watched this movie several times already and I never get tired of watching it. It is such a heartwarming and clever movie. It was so entertaining and lovely. The animation was great as well. The characters were well thought out and the movie shows the importance of family and friends. It shows that you must work together to achieve goals. I loved the storyline because it was just so fascinating. I loved both Boov and Tip, they both were so cute. I loved the ending as well. It has an element of surprise which only made the movie better. I totally recommend this movie to people of all ages. I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars. -@terrificbooklover of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

I wasn't sold on this movie. I love Jim Parsons and think he did wonderful work as a voice actor, and the Boov were hilarious, but once he met up with Tip, they lost me. Not my favorite from Dreamworks.
