Piper is a realistically passionate second-grader who finds (creates) just enough conflict to have interesting stories without ever being unappealing or a troublemaker. Her unusual setting makes her situations even more interesting. She is relatable and accessible, and Potter writes her with a narrative voice that is natural, understated, and articulate.
