The first one was definitely scarier and had better actors (Ethan Hawke) but this one has a new twist: two brothers, one good, one bad. The scenes with the previously murdered families go by really fast so you'll have to keep your finger on the remote to pause it in time. The scene in the cornfield is chilling. I hope they make a Sinister 3. If you've seen Sinister 1 it's definitely scarier than if you haven't because you don't understand the background or significance of the tapes.

More stupid than scary.

This is a combination Children of the Corn meets Spielberg's Super 8 with a demonic Fagin (Oliver Twist) tossed in. A lot of borrowing from other horror films but that's the case with a lot of new horror films. A few well-timed chills in this one that will probably lead to Sinister 3.

Not as good as the first but still worth seeing, some great lil scares here and there.

I thought it was cool to bring the cop from the first to continue into the second. It was creepy but not as good as the first. Baghuul or Mr. Boogie is one of my favorite modern movie monsters.

Like the first movie Bughuul is still an entity you don't want to run into. The snuff-flicks are still here with their super 8 grainy film look. New obscure kills are accompanied by creepy music. A few jump scene moments, but I don't know- it was just ok
