I wanted to like this book, but it failed me. The two main characters have no redeeming qualities what so ever. Max is a gigolo and a thief, whose main concerns are materialistic and narcissistic. The woman is barely memorable. The author uses two timelines - or 3? to tell the story of these sad unlikable people; the 2- or 3? story-lines are so similar, if the author meant them to be parallel in order to give it meaning, the author was mistaken.

I have read other novels by this author and have never been impressed.

Max and Mecha are two beautiful people from different worlds whose lives intersect three times, from the 1920s to the 1960s, in Buenos Aires, Nice and Sorrento.

Elegant. A bit of a thriller. A touching love story. Loved it.
