"I am Catalia Fisa, and I do not break. Deep breath in. Long breath out. The Gods are telling me I'm some sort of new Origin, which apparently means it's my job to give Thalyria a fresh start. Griffin crowned me with the symbols of the three realms. If I'm supposed to be not just a queen but the Queen, I'd better start acting like it."

Again, I think the main character comes close to death way too many times. Only reason this isn't 5 stars. Love the series!

A great second installment of a great series.

This in no way works as a standalone, so if you haven't picked up "A Promise of Fire", the first book in this planned trilogy, you'll want to do so before attempting this, the sequel. Fans of the first book won't be at all disappointed by this follow-up -- Bouchet continues to tell an intriguing story that's a perfect blend of fantasy and romance, and the Greek mythological inspiration makes this stand out memorably from more generic fantasy. Looking forward to book 3!
