In an Istanbul hotel, a deep source warns a CIA agent that Iran intends to kill a CIA station chief. Quickly, John Wells is called in to investigate, but before he can get far, the tip comes true. Which means that the 'next' warning the source gives will be taken very seriously indeed. And it's a big one. We've put a package on a ship from Dubai to the United States. A radioactive one. A bomb? Not yet. It's a test run.-- Provided by publisher

Wonderful! Should have read it prior to reading 12 days.
Wells on cruise seemed far fetched due to his mission oriented personality; but more disappointing had been Anne's rejection and the repercussions of his decision towards the end. Pathetic because John Wells encompasses covert emotions....feelings for his family and the people he loves, which is evident in the measures he takes to protect them. The novel was fun to read and enjoyable. Wow to Alex Berenson and his talent!

See "Twelve Days" [2015] Same characters/quasi identical story line. Difference: male/female villans killed differently.

This is a book that I really liked but that had some parts that I also really hated. I absolutely hated the ending but I won't go into it so I don't spoil it for anybody. There are also some plot twists that were just dumb, where I felt like grabbing the main character and shaking some sense into him. However, overall, the book is really good and I had a difficult time putting it down

An entertaining, light read with an up-to-date, plausible plot. However, it doesn't have an ending; it just stops and leaves the reader waiting the next installment.

It's OK but not up to the standards of his prior books---a bit contrived and confusing and wrapped up at the end in a disappointing package of sorts.

The book is well written and keeps your attention, but a book without a great ending (and this one is left open) is unsatisfying. Based on that, I give it a C plus.

I just finished reading this book and at the end,the only word I could use to describe this book is "flat". I love this authors writing and have read all his books, but this book was way too long and frankly boring. I kept reading and anticipating a peak, but it never came. The book is interesting, but not Alex 's finest.

Can't see the twists and turns coming on this one. Could hardly put it down.

"Unable to prevent the assassination of a CIA station chief by Iranian hostiles who are allegedly plotting a nuclear attack on the United States, John Wells goes undercover to discern the truth on an assignment that takes him from Guatemala and Thailand to Hong Kong and Istanbul." Not one of his better ones - short on action. But an intriguing mystery and conclusion
