I thought The 100 series was originally meant to be a trilogy, and this fourth book made me think it should have been. This time the characters are pitted against a strange cult, whose motivation is never clear. This book just did not live up to the other three, story-wise or character-wise. The main characters acted uncharacteristically. It would have been more interesting to see the colonists creating their new society alongside the Earth Born characters. Instead a cult is introduced, and the book suddenly feels like it has nothing to do with the other three books other than the characters having the same names.
