Mary Alice and Grandma Dowdel return for more astonishing, laugh-out-loud adventures when fifteen-year-old Mary Alice moves in with her spicy grandmother for the year. Her extended visit is filled with moonlit schemes, romances both foiled and founded, and a whole parade of fools made to suffer in unusual (and always hilarious) ways. From the Compact Disc edition
This is the sequel to A long way from Chicago, which first introduced Joey, Mary Alice and Grandma Dowdle. Once again, a charming story that takes place in the depression era. Grandma is such a character--I enjoyed every minute of these cd's. She's a feisty old lady who doesn't suffer fools lightly, speaks her mind and also has a heart of gold. Suitable for any age as its such a terrific story. Start with the first title "A long way from chicago" and you won't be able to wait to read/listen to this one too!
