I really enjoyed the narrative voice and I loved the characters in this book.

Overall I don't feel qualified to assess the quality of this particular book, though, as it aggravated some of my personal anxieties and was, therefore, very difficult for me to read.

I really enjoyed this book! It brought great awareness to a disease that not many people know about. I also loved the third person narrative it worked really well with the story. I would recommend this book for everyone!

I have never read a book whose main character had OCD. Great idea for a book. The author drew me into the life of the character. But a few plot lines were weak. Glad I read this book and would recommend it.

Awesome book!! (oh the innocence of adam :P) i learned and now have a better understanding about OCD, but didn't feel that i got bored learning about it. Very nice balance of adam's illness along w/reading about his social life. :D

Good book! I felt like the author did a great job of letting us into Adam's illness but somehow without focusing too much on it. I liked that he didn't miraculously get better just because he fell in love. Very realistic read!

I am so impressed with the books I have read lately that take on the weight of adolescent mental illness. I have battled with depression and anxiety, so although I don't have a true understanding of what it's like to have OCD, I can relate to some of the experiences in this book. Toten captures the inner battles so well, and nothing in the book stigmatizes or belittles mental illness. And the way Adam starts to realize that he's taking care of everyone but himself? I remember those conversations!
In many ways, though, this book is not about Adam's struggle with OCD. It's just another YA book about typical high school issues: family drama, sexual tension/crushes/dating, figuring out who you are within a group of friends. And that is wonderful to me - it's something I wish I had been reading when I was in high school.

Very good book that finds the balance between heart-felt and empathy. Its an eye opener and makes you learn a lot about what teens with OCD go through.

This is a great book! It really gets to you emotionally. It helps you see life from a different perspecitive. "You can find friends in the most unlikely people."

Wow, this book was engrossing, funny, tragic, heartbreaking, charming, romantic and just so good. If you liked Fault in Our Stars you'll enjoy Unlikely Hero of Room 13B.

Loved it! Really interesting look at kids dealing with OCD and how things can escalate and also go into remission. I liked the love story too and Adam's point of view was unique and easy to relate to. Easy to see why it won the Governor General's Canadian Children's Award. Fantastic read.
